✨ Glitter Jar — Privacy Policy

Short version: Glitter Jar collects nothing. It is a simple, offline relaxation toy. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and the app itself never connects to the internet. The one thing worth knowing is that Android's own backup can include your jar — see Backups below.

Information we collect

None. The app does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. We have no servers and never see anything you do in the app.

Your settings

Your choices — glitter color, amount, sparkle size, water, twinkle, light or dark theme, and whether the music is playing — are saved only on your own device so the jar looks the way you left it.

The same goes for your collection: the charms you have found, the colors you have unlocked, and how close you are to the next one. There is no account to sign into, and none of it is ever sent to us — we have no servers that could receive it.

Backups

Android backs up app data on its own, and Glitter Jar is included — so a copy of your jar can be kept in your Google account, the same way most apps on your phone are. This is something Android does, not something Glitter Jar sends: the app has no internet permission and could not upload anything by itself. We never see it and have no way to reach it.

It is why your collection can reappear when you reinstall the app or set up a new phone. If you would rather it did not happen, Android lets you turn backups off — entirely or app by app — in Settings, under Google then Backup.

Device motion (shake)

The app reads your device's motion sensor solely to detect when you shake the phone, so it can stir the glitter. This happens entirely on your device in the moment and is never recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.

Sound

The app can play a gentle background track, which you can switch off in settings. The music file ships inside the app itself — nothing is streamed, and the app never listens to your microphone.

Permissions, ads & third parties

Glitter Jar requests no permissions at all — not even internet access. It contains no advertising, and no third-party tracking, analytics or advertising software of any kind. Because the app cannot reach the network, there is nothing it could send even by accident. (Android's backup, described above, is carried out by the system itself, which is why it can happen without the app having any internet access of its own.)

Children

Glitter Jar is suitable for everyone, including children. Because it collects no data at all, it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
