🎣 Fishing Guide

Where — and when — to catch every fish in the valley. Tick off each one as you reel it in.

How to read this guide

Difficulty bar

How hard the catch minigame is, on Stardew's 0–110 scale. Longer bar = harder; the number is the exact value.

  • Easy — under 55
  • Moderate — 55 to 84
  • Hard — 85 and up

Behavior

How the fish darts around inside the catch bar — this is what makes it tricky:

  • Dart — sudden, erratic jumps.
  • Sinker — drifts toward the bottom.
  • Floater — rises toward the top.
  • Smooth — slow, steady glide.
  • Mixed — moves all over.

Time & weather

Times use the in-game clock (e.g. 6 AM–7 PM); outside that window the fish won't bite. Sunny means sunny or windy — not raining. Rain fish need a rainy day (a Rain Totem works too).

Seasons & location

Season chips show every season a fish is available; All year means any season. The Where line lists every spot it can be caught — check the italic note for quirks (specific piers, quests, etc.).

Badges

  • Legendary One-of-a-kind catch — only one per save file. The Qi Extended Family versions are the repeatable Ginger Island re-runs.
  • Crab pot Caught in a crab pot, so there's no minigame and no difficulty bar.
  • Algae Seaweed and algae — filler catches, but they count for fishing XP.
