Hearts
The classic trick-taking card game, against three feline regulars. Dodge the hearts and the dreaded Queen of Spades — or scoop up every last one and shoot the moon. Lowest score when someone hits 100 wins.
Playing to 100
How to play
- Goal: take as few points as possible. Every heart is 1 point and the Q♠ is a nasty 13. Game ends when someone reaches 100 — lowest score wins.
- Passing: at the start of each hand, pick 3 cards to pass — left, right, across, then a "keep" hand, repeating.
- Play: whoever holds the 2♣ leads it. You must follow the led suit if you can. Highest card of the led suit wins the trick and leads next.
- You can't lead a heart until hearts have been "broken" (played on an earlier trick). No hearts or the Q♠ on the very first trick.
- Shoot the moon: take all 26 points in a hand and instead of you getting them, everyone else gets 26. High risk, big swing.
- Click a card to play it. Legal cards light up; the rest are dimmed.
